In Remembrance Of…..

Arriving yesterday to Orange County, California for the first year anniversary for my sisters-in-law’s father’s remembrance is so beautiful and touching. In the Methodist Samoan church, it’s a big thing to celebrate and remember the life of your loved ones’ after a year.

Upon my arrival, the grandchildren of Chief Lologo Masaniai a retire military man in the United States Marine Corps – are practicing their performance and music. The big day held tomorrow (Sunday) then feasting thereafter as the family invites many family and friends.

It’s beautiful how the children come together to honor their father. The youngest daughter is married to my brother. I’m here to represent my family on behalf of my baby brother.

I see so many of the Polynesian culture being beautified in such exemplary ways from Weddings, Retirement to Funerals, to 50 – 60 – 70 – 80th birthdays. I’m blessed to be raised in such a beautiful culture that surrounds “Love”…..
